The First Social Network for Respiratory Care

hello all...im ella and i am new to rtspace. I just wanted to find out how other RT's feel about the nbrc's deadline as of 2/28/09 if you are registry eligible and wish to sit for the rrt after that date you must re-take the crt in order to sit for the rrt...this is wrong... and it makes me angry. i want to take my rrt exam but i dont want to repeat my crt...what do you guys feel about this? Or am I over reacting, worring for nothing?

Part of it oh hell the majority of it is the money but they are not punishing crt's what they are doing is trying to get rid of crt's and just make RRT's. The next point is there is no longer registry eligible therapist out there according to the nbrc. So now all crt's that are registry eligible getting that extra dollar will lose it when the hospital finds out there is no longer registry eligible status. There have been therapist who have been eligible for years and not even attempt the exam so in a way they tried to force the situation peace

Naw!! your not over reacting, I think it's a bunch of B.S., I guess the NBRC has never heard tyhe sayin if it aint broke, don't try to fix it. I hate to say it but, I guess I'll be a CRT for life or unless I change careers, cause it doesn't make sense to have to re-take your crt and pass to be able to take the RRT, it just doesn't make sense at all. So as of 2/28/09 I guess I'll be a PCRT(permanent certified resp. therapist).
