I am a Independence University college student as well with 3 classes left and I gotta tell ya, not too much interaction goes on here.  I wish it was like Face Book for RTs or RT students.  What part of the program are you in ?  I'm in RES255 and RES 260....  the new accreditation is throwing everyone for a loop.

Right now i'm in res 201 and res 211!   Nice to see your almost done i'm trying to get through this math part, not my best subject maybe you can help with some basic math questions if you are to administer 5mg via aerosol but only have .05% on hand how many milliliters would you give? and my other one is a solution must be mixed with 12 parts concentrate to 8 parts water how much is needed if 6 parts concentrate are to be used? also one other is what is the patient pa02 based on the following values using the alveolar equation 

PB= 760mmhg

PH20= 47 mmhg

fi02 =0.30

paco2=60 mmhg

Pao2=Fio2 (pb-ph20) - paco2 (1.25)

Right now i'm in RES 255 and RES 260; i'm almost done and it's all pediatrics, not good stuff to digest at all.  Plus my course professor is tough.  Anyone else from IU doing the same classes?

Ken, 

I am thinking of starting IU but did have some questions. How are you able to intubate or work around monitors when IU does not really provide labs to practice in, since it is all independent work. I am curious as to how your preceptor goes about this?  

 

Also if you could tell me your experiences about this school that would be great.

thank you Jason for the welcome. I just passed RES260 and am now in RES 270 with RES 255 and only about 3 weeks to pull RES 255 off.  I car accident with a concussion and a totaled car isn't helping the situation but i'm still pushing on...gotta get done with this program.  I like the chatter i'm seeing.
