RT SPACE

The First Social Network for Respiratory Care

Hello All !!,

I started this blog for those of us RT's that are working or have an interest in Sleep. I haven't posted until now, as I was waiting until we had enough members to maintain interest and an ongoing dialog.
Tonite I wanted to start a discussion on the new SDS test. I sat for it in May, and passed with an 88%.
Are any of you thinking about taking this exam? Has anyone else sat for it? If so, what did you think? Myself, I felt it was very basic, yet through, no where as difficult as the RPSGT, which traditionally has an overall pass rate of between 48-60%.
Comments please, BTW, call me Tim

I am considering taking it. Right now I am only involved in the CPAP/BIPAP DME and Auto Titration side of Sleep, but I think this may be the time to get credentialed before the NBRC change the game. I am also possibly interested in starting a Sleep Lab or CPAP business.
Brenda,
I think it will be a wise choice to sit for it ASAP. You can't have too Many feathers in your hat, Tim
I was wondering if you had any specific study material you would recommend. I am a new sleep tech and would like to test asap. How much OJT would you think is needed to pass the test? Any more info about the test is appreciated.
