Hey Fellow RT's
Hello Fellow RT's

I am currently looking into working abroad for a couple of years over in Saudi or Dubai, UAE area. I was wondering if anyone has any information of any kind. If you have been there and done it, or are currently working abroad. Stories, contacts. Any kind of information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time
Darren

Hi Darren! I have been working at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi, UAE, for more than 4 years now, used to work at Prince Sultan Cardiac Center in Riyadh before, went to Canada in between for a year, but missed the expat lifestyle too much. Just to let you know that we currently have new openings in our hospital and if you are interested in finding out more details you can contact me. Also I would like to follow-up on James' comment above (no offense James :o) ). I can not discuss the salaries or benefits on this website due to confidentiallity concerns, but all I can say openly is that yes the workload may be a bit high compared to some other hospitals ( and by the way 1 to 12 ratio is exagerated) , but the job description is great and very rewarding, working conditions are great, benefits-housing package competitive, and lifestyle is way better than any other place in middle-east in my opinion, otherwise I would not still be here. Lifestyle is so great that my wife and I are not sure if we will ever be able to leave this place and go back to Canada. You make your own experience, and because other people have had a bad experience does not mean yours will be bad too! So what I may suggest is do not pay much attention to bad comments from people, do you own inquiries with right people, and then you can decide by yourself what is good for you or not. Send me a private message if you want to discuss more. Good luck!
