Because of the bad apples of RT> lazy RT's.

That is true there are a lot of lazy and RT's Respiratory Therapy is a profession and every RT should treat it as such not just show up for work and then go home.

That's because RNs aren't trained as RTs, and it's difficult for them to understand the finer things in our profession...

Well I'm trained and work as both RN and RT and it is the lazy RT's that don't do their job. To many RT's do their rounds and run back to the department and sit around. I've worked all over the USA and Saudi Arabia and have seen it everywhere I go.

Don't stereotype based on what you might be doing.

WHY YOU BECOME A RESPIRATORY THERAPIST IF THEY ARE LAZY?

Reply to This

I started RT school in 1987 when I was only 18 years old. As far as a best mode of ventilation, it depends on what you're trying to achieve and what type of patient you're trying to ventilate.

It's funny to think how much schooling and experience you had and still not educated well enough in some areas of your life. But I still give props to you of how honest you are with your opinion no matter how narrow it is.

There are a lot of lazy RT's but were not saying we are the Lazy ones!!

Its not true

There is a lot of truth to this but you have to remember there is a lot in nursing that RT's dont learn about

Because they work on the same patient? =p
Give them each seperate patients, I'm sure they won't clash!
