Bag or Not To Bag that is the question

I am doing a survey on bagging ventilated patients and the pro's & cons could you tell me if you bag patients on a regular basis and do you use a self inflating bag or a mapleson C system ? I am linking this issuue with VAP prevention.

We usually Bag our pt's to their destination, but we also have to transport the vent with a large bag over it , and cap the ends of the suction cath and y area's. For VAP comparisons, we also chart on a green sheet that is always on the pt's clip board. We mark the time that we disconnected the pt, and when we connect them back up to the vent.
